PSEAH Specialist

The role will support UNOPS in implementing its 2023-2025 PSEAH Strategy and Action Plan. The role will support the PSEAH Corporate Coordinator to ensure that UNOPS is fully complying with the SG Bulletin on the Prevention and Response of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, and support organizational efforts to address Sexual Harassment. 


1. Strategic Support

• Recommend strategic content to the PSEAH Strategy, PSEAH Action Plan and policies based on best practices identified within the UN system or other international organizations.

• Support senior leadership in setting minimum PSEAH standards across the organization.

• Contribute to the design, development and / or implementation of trainings to strengthen PSEAH capacity and awareness

• Provide technical advice to country teams to efficiently manage implementing partners based on their PSEA risk profile;

• Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure proper PSEAH mainstreaming in partnerships and project documents and systems.  

• Strengthen teams capacities to develop and improve access to safe, gender and age sensitive reporting channels including community-based complaint mechanisms (CBCM);

• Provide training and mentoring to regional and country level PSEAH focal points.Lead the Focal Point Community of Practice 

• Provide expert guidance and technical support to regional PSEAH coordinators, country-level PSEAH focal points and other relevant stakeholders to mainstream PSEAH in projects in line with good practice and organizational standards.

• Ensure and Promote innovation and the use of digital tools, where appropriate, to further scale up PSEAH in country offices

• Collaborate with relevant data analysis. including support with data collection based on inputs of regional PSEAH coordinators, country-level PSEA Focal Points and other relevant colleagues, identify recurring issues and trends, and share recommendations with senior leadership with the aim of enhancing strategic and operational decision-making related to PSEAH.

• Contribute to UNOPS knowledge management by capturing case studies and best practice examples of PSEAH throughout UNOPS, making recommendations on policy and tools, as well as contributing to the development of guidance material and tools;

• Coordination with various relevant areas of practice for PSEAH work (including HSSE, HR, GDI / GESI, Comms & Partnerships, etc).

• Prepare the annual UNOPS PSEAH report.

• An Advanced University Degree or a Master’s Degree in: Gender Studies, Child Protection, Law, International Relations, Development Studies, Human Rights, Social or Behavioral sciences is required. 
• A first-level University degree or Bachelor’s or equivalent in a related field of study with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of Master’s Degree requirement.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the field of harassment, sexual exploitation and abuse, child protection, and/or gender-based violence.

Asset:

• Some experience in UN system organizations or large international development organizations, preferably in a developing country is desirable.

• Experience of SEAH reporting channels, and/or survivor assistance is desirable.

• Knowledge of Google Workspace, preferably Google sheet, Google doc, Google slides and Google drive, is desirable.

• Fluency in English is required
• Fluency in French and/or Spanish highly desirable
