The UNOPS Peace and Security Cluster (PSC) is a principal service provider in the field of mine action with the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), UNDP, UNICEF, Governments of mine-affected countries and other mine action partners. The Head of Cluster is responsible to administer, provide support and oversight of the day-to-day management of the Project Field offices, both according to the client requirements and in line with UNOPS rules and regulations.It is headed by the Director of the cluster who has the overall authority and accountability for the performance of the Peace and Security Cluster on behalf of its clients.
Over the past 20 years, UNOPS Peace and Security Centre (PSC) has developed expertise in implementing projects in complex environments where security and logistical challenges hamper peace and security, humanitarian and development activities. This thematic center provides its partners with human resources, procurement and contract management services, as well as planning, implementation, risk management and oversight support to a wide range of programmes and projects. Within its current portfolio, UNMAS remains the center’s main partner. PSC provides support for UNMAS activities in over 30 countries.
