The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners' peacebuilding, humanitarian and development projects around the world. Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors and United Nations organizations.
Project Background
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Country Manager and the Technical supervision of NAMCO Procurement Specialist, the CO Procurement Officer is responsible for making sure that requests of various clients and partners, including UNOPS projects and project managers, are serviced in a quality and timely manner. Most of these requests will relate to infrastructure/works projects, as well as procurement of goods and services required for effective office management and project implementation. Accordingly, the incumbent will be expected to manage and ensure the provision of efficient and timely procurement and contract administration support to various clients in Morocco, as well as other OH locations, as required.
Overall, the incumbent is responsible for effective delivery of procurement services in order to obtain the best value for money. S/he analyzes and interprets the financial rules and regulations and provides solutions to a wide spectrum of complex issues related to procurement. S/he will closely work with the supervisor to promote a collaborative, client-focused, quality and results-oriented approach in the Unit.
The incumbent will be expected to work in close collaboration with the NAMCO operations Support and programme units, UNOPS Regional Office and HQs staff, and government officials and relevant and clients.
