Management of ICT team and their activities
Goal/Results: Good people management and Successful implementation of team objectives and their contribution to corporate needs
Functions:
Manage and provide leadership and guidance to ICT Services personnel in two different units; Helpdesk and Backend Support
Oversee technical activities of ICT Focal Points globally
Motivate team members, and ensure the development of their competencies
Develop team work plans in alignment with ICT Strategy, review project proposals, prioritize projects, assign resources and track progress
Monitor ICT Services work plans and budget, prioritize spending, oversee major ICT procurement activities
Technical advice and guidance
Goal/Results: Provision of advice and guidance on ICT infrastructure and policies to UNOPS field offices
Functions:
Advice ICT Focal Points on design, procurement, licensing, implementation and support of ICT Infrastructure
Advice RO/OC/PC management and ICT Focal Points on ICT policies and ICT-related audit recommendations/observations
Coordination, networking, representation
Goal/Results: Building and maintaining strong relationships with other business units, inter-agency counterparts, and ICT Infrastructure project stakeholders
Functions:
Close collaboration with counterparts in ICT Development and Enterprise Reporting on strategic ICT projects, to ensure the infrastructure needs of business applications and systems are met
Liaise with inter-agency counterparts, sharing knowledge and experience, exchanging ideas, discussing technological trends
Represent UNOPS in inter-agency projects and committees related to ICT Infrastructure
Manage expectations of ICT Infrastructure project stakeholders
Strategic alignment and support
Goal/Results: Ensuring the UNOPS ICT Infrastructure meets strategic goals and business needs
Functions:
Analyse ICT business needs and develop opportunities for ICT Infrastructure improvements
Develop strategic Infrastructure project proposals for review by CIO and/or ICTAB
In line with strategic plans, develop ICT policies for review by CIO
Provide technical expertise and input on relevant Organizational Directives and Administrative Instructions
Advice CIO on ICT Infrastructure trends for internal monitoring and benchmarking
Ensure that the global ICT infrastructure is aligned with strategic directions of the organization
Ensure the successful completion of strategic ICT Infrastructure projects
