Specific roles and responsibilities for the duration of the consultancy include.

• Design the Africa Adaptation and Low Emissions Development (LEDS) Newsletter;
• Create creative works for print and LEDS
• Generate interactive info graphic presentations and upload them on AAKNet and LEDS website;  Develop art-works, charts and other graphic elements for use on website;
• Identify and download pictures for use in publications, presentations for website;
• Generate graphic images and illustrations,
• Generate interactive presentations, flash files, sound, and video;
• Create a database to store and retrieve the body of adaptation work;
• Manage social media activity for the programme
• Revamped the LEDS Website Ultimate result of service Edited art work, photos charts and other graphic elements,
• Formatted Africa Adaptation and Low Emissions Development Newsletter publications, • Flash and power point presentations,
• Formatted flyers, brochures, banners, posters, etc.
• Database with packaged content in suitable formats for the web
• Uploaded data and information to the web portal
• Formatted documents for the web portal
• Social Media feeds to the Africa Adaptation Knowledge Network
• Expanded social media presence of programme
• LEDS Website revamped

•  Africa Adaptation and Low Emissions Development Newsletters designed and released bi-monthly;
• Interactive infographic presentations generated and uploaded to website;
• Interactive charts based on project work and publications developed for use on website;
• Banners, flyers, posters and related promotional material based on project developed
• An archive file of publications and presentations developed and uploaded to website
• Dynamic flash files, Images, sound and video on project activities developed and Final consultancy report delivered.

• Bachelor Degree in information technology or related field required

• A minimum of two years' of progressively responsible experience in graphic design, website design and information packaging with the UN system. 
• Previous experience within the UN is preferred. 

• Fluency in English is required.

Background Information - East Africa Hub (EAH)

Located in Nairobi, Kenya, the East Africa Hub manages a growing portfolio of engagements, including associated strategic and operational risks. The East Africa sub-region currently consists of an established Operation Centre in South Sudan and a portfolio of engagements managed by the Kenya based East Africa Hub office. This includes primarily transactional projects in partnership with the Nairobi based UN Agencies, UN-Habitat and UNEP, and multiple ‘operational’ projects in Somalia, Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya and several island states.
