The consultant will be required to:

Familiarise
with SGP’s work globally in 125 countries aligned with the Operational Phase 7
Strategy and SGP strategic Initiatives as well as core policy documents such as
the GEF SGP Operational Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures.
·
Work closely
with SGP Central Programme Management Team (CPMT) colleagues in New York who
are responsible on different regions and focal areas, thematic priorities and
cross-cutting areas to identify key funding gaps both in relation to HQ and
regional and country technical support needs.
Further, review SGP’s global and selected country level strategies to identify
funding needs.

On the basis
of above, develop a 5 to 10-year resource needs and opportunity assessment.
·
Identify
potential sources of fund for SGP activities with special consideration on
non-traditional donors for SGP, such as private sector and foundations, in
addition to bilateral and multilateral donors.
·
Make recommendations on developing and maintaining
strategic partnerships with key donors and partners including a plan of matching funding needs with identified funding
sources.
·
Facilitate
development on 3-4 high quality proposals for resource mobilization
Key
deliverables
The
consultant will deliver the following key deliverables:

A
comprehensive resource mobilization and partnership strategy for SGP with
detail strategy for short term (about 4 years) but with a longer period (5 to
10 years) in mind by identifying funding needs, gaps and potential sources.

A detailed
time bound action plan that fully operationalises the resource mobilization
strategy
·
Facilitate the
development of 3-4 high quality multi-year proposals.
Key result: By
end of the consultancy, developed a comprehensive resource mobilization and
partnership strategy for SGP .
Reporting
The
consultant will work under the overall guidance of the Global Manager, while
the Deputy Global Manager will jointly facilitate the work. Regular discussion and updates are expected,
at least on a monthly basis
