Digital Partnerships & Fundraising Officer

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking a Digital Partnership and Fundraising Officer to join their Digital Services (DS) team within the Information Management Branch (IMB). OCHA maintains multiple web-based platforms that are used in humanitarian response. This position will encompass creating and sustaining strategic partnerships between OCHA and non-UN entities such as non-profits, research institutions, foundations, private sector companies, and volunteer-based entities. The position will also work to raise funds to be used to fund strategic priorities and collaboration of aforementioned partnerships.

Deliverables

●        Contribute to the  creation and management of a digital partnership strategy and communicate it clearly internally;

●        Proactively research, approach, and secure mutually beneficial partnerships that advance our strategic priorities within Digital Services;

●        Contribute to the development, coordination and implementation of fundraising strategies;

●        Build and manage a portfolio of partnerships with potential donors (e.g. foundations);

●        Identify, cultivate, and deliver bold and significant partnerships with emerging philanthropists/foundations;

●        Develop tactical approaches to major national and international donors - planning, leading and implementing new business generation meetings, reaching decision makers within organizations and orchestrating senior support when appropriate;

●        Track all aspects of donors’ annual fundraising plans;

●        Manage day to day relations with donors and digital partners;

●        Prepare required reports, in conjunction with digital partners, for the donors as outlined in agreements;

●        Create and update partnership & fundraising collateral (including proposal templates, pitch decks, and solution overviews);

●        Represent DS at meetings and events globally with presentations, demonstrations and through panel discussions.

●        Participate in team meetings and in team forums as required.

Education

●        A Masters degree is required.

●        Bachelor’s degree with an additional two years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Masters’ degree.

●        Secondary education with additional six years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Masters’ degree.

Work Experience

●        A minimum of 5 years in a fundraising, business, sales, or client-facing role ideally in a complex global business or not-for-profit organization with a record of quantified fundraising and partnership success;

●        Demonstrated experience in identifying, cultivating and securing business partnerships;

●        Experience fundraising for a humanitarian or non-profit organization;

●        Proven experience building strategic partnerships for a digital or technology organization.

Desired Experience:

●        An existing network and understanding of procurement in the international development, humanitarian, and public sectors and subsectors;

●        Proven track record in developing and maintaining multi-faceted, global partnerships across nonprofits and government agencies;

●        Knowledge of customer relationship management databases;

●        Experience creating and implementing a fundraising strategy that is integrated with marketing, customer service, and product strategies

Languages

Fluency in spoken and written English.
