Under the overall supervision of the Director of the Strategic Communication and Public Information Department of the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), the Partnership officer will undertake the following tasks:
• Review of legal documents, instruments, or other material; identifies important issues, similarities, and inconsistencies the context of Radio Okapi’s partnerships;
• Prepare drafts, background papers, studies, reports, etc.
• Identify potential partners to pursue new partnership opportunities and pursue portfolio growth in preparation of future Okapi’s second life;
• Prepare letters for expression of interest for potential partnership when considered consistent with MONUSCO mandate, Radio Okapi goals and development strategy;
• Assist in the preparation of agreements and contracts with governments, NGOs and other public and private entities, as well as claims and disputes;
• Contribute to overall planning of Radio Okapi’s sustainability, as required;
• Organize/Contribute to the activities promoting good relations between Radio Okapi and its donors as well as the national authorities, and ensured accurate information dissemination on Radio Okapi’s role and mandate;
• Contribute to the identification, design, management, and evaluation, including financially of Radio Okapi’s projects;
• Identify and prospect high value partnerships with the corporate, non-governmental, and international sector: work collaboratively as part of the Partnership team to selectively identify, research and screen target entities, then develop successful approaches for potential new partners including relationship and network mapping;
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of events relating to political issues, in general, and in particular as they affect the Democratic Republic of the Congo;
• Negotiate complex partnerships with corporate prospects through the creation of compelling value propositions, key messages, presentations, and briefing, which align with Radio Okapi’s priorities;
• Draft a variety of reports, communications, briefings, statements, etc., including to policy-making bodies
• Provide guidance and supervision to new/junior staff, including UNVs;
• Proactively contribute suggestions and ideas that will add value to the Radio Okapi’s post MONUSCO transformation.
