Background
As part of its mandate to support an intra-Yemeni-led peace process to end the current conflict, the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY) has expanded its Peace Support Project supporting agreements for peace and a resumption of the Political Process in Yemen. The purpose of this project is to provide technical advice to the mediation team and to the parties in the conflict to strengthen negotiation capacities, advise on aspects of the negotiated settlement and assist in the development of credible proposals for confidence-building measures, ceasefire, monitoring mechanisms, redeployment options, security governance, and associated disarmament mechanisms, in addition to providing technical advice for post-peace agreement planning, with a focus on governance arrangements, including constitutional arrangements, elections, institution- building, among others.
Org. Setting and Reporting
The Project Coordinator will be based in the OSESGY-Amman Office and will work under the direct supervision of the OSESGY Chief of Staff. Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for planning, designing, and monitoring programmatic activities, and providing substantive inputs on these activities as part of the UNOPS donor reports.
