Role of the Director of the New York Board and External Relations Office
The Director reports to the Executive Director and works in close collaboration with the Executive Office and the Management Team.
The Director represents UNOPS in New York as head of duty station covering local safety and security issues on behalf of all New York-based personnel. The Director is responsible for promoting a mutually effective relationship between:
- The Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS on behalf of the Executive Director; and
- Governance and oversight bodies of the United Nations system and UNOPS.
The role is also responsible for ensuring that the organization of, preparation for, management and servicing of Executive Board sessions are efficiently and effectively carried out.
Further, the role provides an effective bridge between the UNOPS Executive Office in Copenhagen and the UN Headquarters in New York.
