User Support Technician

• Install, configure and provide basic technical support for user hardware, network, printers and other office equipment. Install and configure Operating Systems, printer drivers, applications etc. Image PC, laptops and servers for deployment;
• In coordination with other support services such as the Service Desk, assist users and provide basic troubleshooting. Administer Service Desk tickets and inventory records.
• Train Mission staff and other civilian or military personnel on the proper use of IT resources, Information Security, software applications etc.

Education:

High school diploma is required. An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or relevant certification is a plus and may replace for some of the minimum years of required experience.

Experience:

·         Minimal 5 year experience in supporting users and network and office equipment is required.

Desirable:

·         Experience in supporting Windows desktop Operating Systems and MS Office.

·         Knowledge of the ITIL framework.

·         Experience in customer services and the ability to provide a professional interface with the user         community.

·         Good interpersonal skills.

·         Attention to detail.

·         Proven ability to work under pressure.

·         Ability to work outside normal working hours if required

·         Industry recognized certifications are an asset.

 Language:

Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.

Based in Geneva, the Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECR) supports UNOPS offices throughout the region through: management, financial and programmatic oversight of global and country-specific portfolios, clusters and operations centres, including hosting services; fund and management advisory services; project implementation; procuring goods and services; and managing human resources.

For example, within the United Nations Development Programme, the Cluster works with the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support and the Office of South-South Cooperation.

The cluster also supports the United Nations Secretariat, as well as a broadening community of other New York-based United Nations organizations in the delivery of project management and implementation services
