Under the guidance of the Head of Communications, the Online Communications Specialist is responsible for UNOPS' online presence. Tasks include:
• Strategic
Develop
and implement and an online communications strategy, covering all of UNOPS
online communications platforms to address key audience groups
Coordinate
online projects with other departments
Ensure
to maintain a consistent look and feel across
all online platforms
Recruit
and hire external consultants or vendors
Develop
and track key performance indicators
Supervise
other members of the web team
• Website management
Responsible
for content publishing process on the website in coordination with other
members of the communications unit
Track
statistics on website performance and devise plans to address issues
Continuously
work to improve the website; conduct research, create site architecture
recommendations, work with graphic designers and ICT team
• Intranet management
Responsible
for content publishing process and implementation of CMS functionality
Work
with other departments on organizational initiatives
Track
statistics on website performance and devise plans to address issues
Liaise
with ICT on troubleshooting and updates to the intranet
• Social media
Manage
UNOPS presence on corporate social media accounts; for example, Facebook,
Twitter, Flickr, Linkedin, YouTube
Work
with members of the communications team on social media campaigns
Liaise
with other UN agencies to participate on common social media campaigns
Track
social media performance and address issues
• Emails and e-newsletters
Manage
design and functionality of targeted emails and newsletters
Train
other members of the communications unit to handle content production
Track
figures to monitor their performance and address issues
• Supervision
Train
the other members of the web team to:
Provide intranet trainings to focal points to improve their content
management capacity
Work
with intranet focal points to help them manage their local content
Publish
content on the website
Manage campaigns and updating of social media accounts
• Digital material production (desirable)
Create
audio visual material to be used internally and externally
Produce
videos for offices and the organization in general
Work
with photos to create albums for campaigns or web stories
Perform other related duties as
required.
